About the archive
Casino Design is a trade magazine about the architecture and interior design of casino resorts. It ran as an annual from 2008, and the most recent issue on this site is Casino Style 2025.
This site is the complete run: 221 stories across 9 issues, every section index and every contributor page. Nothing has been trimmed and no address has been retired — a link made to a story in 2009 still opens that story.
The archive is grouped two ways at once. By issue, the way the magazine was published: the issue archive. By subject, the way the work is actually looked for: architecture, interiors, gaming floor, hospitality and development.
Two indexes are built by reading the text of the stories rather than by hand. The design index counts the solutions the magazine keeps returning to; the firm directory lists the practices named in the work and the projects they appear in. News carries shorter industry items as they land.
What the editors do and do not claim
Everything on this site is one of two things, and they are never mixed. Archive stories are the magazine's own reporting, reproduced as printed, under the byline that ran with them. Editorial pieces written for this site are signed Casino Design Magazine and carry no personal byline, because they are the work of the editorial desk rather than of an invented correspondent.
Those editorial pieces are written from the archive. Every figure, quotation, credit and date in them is taken from a story on this site and linked to it, so a reader can check the source in one click. We do not visit properties, we do not test games and we do not report on our own experience of gambling — where we have no source, we leave the field out rather than fill it.
Numbers deserve a specific warning. Project costs and floor areas are quoted exactly as the magazine's credit blocks printed them, including their qualifications, and those qualifications matter more than the numbers do. What a reported cost does and does not include is set out in our guide to project costs.
Where this site links to a commercial partner, the link is marked as a partner placement and sits in its own block. It never appears inside a story, and no coverage decision follows from it.
